I'm
a complete beginner, which hoop is best
for me?
We recommend starting with the Energy Hoop
because it has the most grip tape out of
all of our hoops. Grip tape is helpful because
it sticks to your body a little better than
sparkle tape. We also recommend starting
with the 160 PSI hoop because its slightly
heavier, which makes learning new tricks
easier. See below for choosing your hoop
size.
What
size hoop should I choose?
To
determine which size to get, measure from
your belly button to the ground then choose
the closest number, 40", 38" or
36". Custom orders are
welcome, just shoot us an e-mail
or call us at 800.755.6423 x 3.
How
do I loose weight hooping?
Most importantly, hoop frequently, to great
music and have fun! You won't even feel
like you are working out until you wake
up the next morning with sore muscles. We
recommend moving beyond "waist hooping"
to tone and strengthen your entire body!
See below for which moves tone which areas
of your body:
Waist - tones abs and strengthens lower
back
Hips - tones the
booty
Arm Lift Up & Drop Downs - tones arms,
shoulders, back, strengthens wrists
Chest & Shoulders - tones the whole
upper body: arms, shoulders, back &
chest
Angles - strengthens and tones the back
& abs
Legs - tones thighs and booty
Vertical Moves - strengthens arms, shoulders
and wrists
Are
your hoops weighted?
We don't add any additional weights or water
to our hoops, however, due to the material
they are made of, they are naturally heavy.
Why is it easier to start with heavier,
larger hoops?
Heavier and larger hoops allow you to slow
down and feel the hoop moving around your
body making it easier to learn tricks. With
lighter hoops you have to move really quickly
to keep the hoop on your waist and it can
be frustrating for beginners.
What's
the difference between 160 PSI Vs 100 PSI
hoops?
While 160 PSI & 100 PSI look the same
from the outside (they are both 3/4"
diameter) our 160 PSI hoop is a slightly
thicker pipe making it heavier than 100
PSI.
What's
the difference between grip tape and sparkle
tape?
Grip tape is also known as gaffer tape.
It is a super sticky and grippy tape that
is great for beginners learning new tricks.
Our Sassy & Energy hoops are wrapped
with grip tape. The sparkle tape is very
reflective shiny tape that is great for
performances. While all of our hoops are
wrapped with some grip tape, the sparkle
hoops such as our Juicy and Blingy hoops
are slightly more slippery, making them
a better choice for hoopers with some experience.
What
is the best type of clothing to wear?
Bare skin is actually the best thing you
can wear... or not wear! Think shorts and
a sports bra. Spandex and synthetic clothing
are also great fabrics to wear.

Why
are your hoops so expensive?
You can buy a cheap hoop from the store
but it's going to make learning very challenging
and frustrating. Our hoops are more expensive
because they are made out of more expensive
material than those you find in the toy
store. They are also hand-wrapped with beautiful
grip and sparkle tape by Fire Groove is
Los Angeles.
What
makes The Zinger an advanced hoop?
The Zinger hoops are made from 1/2"
HDPE pipe which is a very lightweight and
springy hoop. Once you've mastered the basics,
it's fun to start exploring hooping with
lighter hoops. Lighter hoops make moves
such as vertical hooping, tossing, stalls
and reversals a little easier on your body.
Which
hoops are best for children?
Small children would be best using The Zinger
and children over 12 years old should try
the 100 PSI hoop. Choosing size works the
same as adults.
